    Kent and East Sussex Railway Diesel Running Days

    May 2nd and May 30th

    The Kent and East Sussex railway are pleased to announce the provisional plans for this year’s diesel running days.

    Due to unforeseen maintenance it is unlikely that the class 14 will be available to operate on the 2nd of May. The diesel service on this day will feature our BTH ‘Ford’ diesel locomotive, the oldest working standard gauge diesel locomotive in the country, working two round trips from Tenterden to Bodiam.

    It is also planned that 03 D2023 will work part of the journey with the Ford.

    It is hoped that work on the class 14 will be completed in time for it to operate on May 30th alongside the ‘Ford’ diesel and class 03.

    Final timings are being prepared and will be announced shortly. There will also be a two steam hauled services in operation on both of these dates.
