    Great photos, great memories - I worked the summer weekday service with her in the early 70's and also went to Shildon with her in '75. Crackin' loco. Of course back then she was in proper KWVR livery ;-)

    Yes, I remember the summer of '68, when I was starting at Leeds University and the first thing I did on the first Saturday was go to KWVR - working that day was 41241 in that red KWVR livery. I thought it was very suitable, and gave the feel of a newly independent local railway, rather than trying to recreate the past. Even the USA tank no.72 in its rather striking brown and silver colours was - well, different.

    Nice photos Stuart. Good to see that another ex S&D loco in Yorkshire displaying a proper S&D headcode! Former Bath Shed mate 53809 also carried the "correct" code that day for its two Grosmont - Pickering trips. As fireman, I saw to that. Sorry that I'm not clever enough to send a photo of the 7F properly adorned.
