I'd be really grateful if anyone can advise about where and when I can ride in a standard gauge railbus (both Modernisation Plan and LEV type interest me). I have tried searching t'interwebnet but no joy. I'm really keen to ride on one or more this year. Thanks in anticipation!

  2. presently the railbus is operating at the Kwvr every weekend in the relif path to the main steam set

There is a LEV type vehicle at Downpatrick in Northern Ireland, that was working last time I was in the area.

The German Built raibus is in service at the NNR and they are also progressing with the LEV owned by the NRM and hope to have this operational later this year!

Other than those already mentioned, the Wickham Railbus is operational and at the Lavandar Line - not sure if it has any booked running though. There is also the Drewry Car at the Middleton Railway which is a railbus of sorts.

I would say the K&WVR railbus is seeing the most use at the moment.

Thanks for all the leads! I will be actively pursuing some of these when I get time off work (starting 27th March!)! Would love a ride in a LEV type vehicle! I know this is a bit of a strange ambition, but hey ho!

The NRM's LEV1 has now been returned to working order and is in use on the North Norfolk Railway. LEV2 is currently languishing in Conneticut.

Any idea of specific dates for the LEV 1 this Summer? I'm overdue a visit to the NNR!
