Very nice to see, a pity is not in steam. Any recent news of 1215 ??
Good job done there. Am I the only one who want's to take a planishing hammer* to every idiot journalist who persists in referring to locomotives as 'trains'?
*feel free to nominate the implement of your choice
planishing hammer is not up to the job, 4lb lump minimum requirement ;-)
14lb sledge gets better results.
Ah yes. Run them over in the snow. That'll teach them.
I have heard the 21 April for a launch then I assume rest of year visit other locos the big when is when will it first meet up with 778
What a timely question. The answer to your question is that the much-anticipated Hunslet/Baldwin re-union (in steam) will take place at Apedale for Tracks to the Trenches, July 13-15. They have been together before. Well-known is when HE1215 was at LBLR for a few days after it was imported to the UK. Less well-known is that the locos worked side-by-side in 1917, according to recent research by members of 778's owning group.
I cannot really comment on the exact status of HE1215, as I do not represent the owners, the War Office Loco Trust. However, I am sure that they will announce their news before long!
