Historic Italian Signal Boxes at Major Stations

    Travellers that have previously been through the large interchange stations of Milano Centrale or Bologna Centrale in Italy might have noticed on their arrival or departure the distinctive, gantry style signal towers on site.

    Usually designated as CABINA A or similar, these towers are as distinctive as they are impressive. Above all, they are very photogenic and quite Italian. They date from the 1920s and the start of railway electrification in Italy.

    Indeed! It was always nice going under the Milan one on the way back knowing that in a few minutes I would be seeing my future wife after a week away in Southern Italy. So many memories. Thanks for the link.
