I spent the day at the 2' gauge Muhlenstroth railway in Germany on June 23rd and I could'nt help thinking it had a lot in comman with our Statfold Barn. A railway in pleasant rural surroundings, going round a large field, freight and passenger trains, each engine alternating between cab and smokebox first each loop. Not as many working engines as Statfold, on this day 2 steam 1 diesel. I understand however that 4 steam engines can be turned out on special days. The 2 steam engines running were both O&K 0-4-0s no 5 Arthur Koppel and no8 Phillip S, the diesel was a V10C no199 101. The very impressive no4 Nikki+Frank S was pulled from the shed into the sunshine for photos, I shall have to return to film this loco at work.
