Depends how succesfull the new cylinder block is, the bogie is back under the engin, the boiler has been steam tested and the valves are going to be set this week.

In real vintage news, Welsh Pony moved today at Glan y Pwll.

It travelled most of the railway earlier in the year.

This isn't so much "real news" as a mediocre turn of minor events. Taliesin is a bit more relevant as it will actually run at the event.....hopefully as will the new slate waggons some of which were completed this weekend to expand what is already the biggest unfitted freight train in the country.

Oh dear, I must have misremembered how good the last vintage weekend was. Maybe it is my age.

No, you're not mis-remembering how good the last vintage weekend was - just mis-interpreting Tim's comment, which was aimed at Andrew's posting about Welsh Pony...

By no means of measure can Taliesin be claimed to be more vintage than Welsh Pony, but the interest factor in WP being shunted out of Glan y Pwll, briefly, is minor. Appearance wise she is no different, bar a rustier smokebox and tarnished brass, than she was in 2005. Were she to be entering Boston Lodge for her rebuild to begin, then fair enough - that'd be new and interesting news.

However I think the point is, is that a question asked regarding Taliesin was answered with a statement about Welsh Pony.....

Shame the railway doesn't realise that not advertising what is actually running costs them lost visitors.
Next week I have a choice from KWVR,NYMR Wartime,ELR deltic event or the Ffestiniog Unknown attraction event.

Glad to hear it Andrew, have had enough of them this weekend, so will seek solace in North Wales!
