Links to photographs in current condition would be useful, also to get some idea of loading gauge.

    Martin,
Probably not the same loco, but there are some stats from an ex-Sena 0-8-0 Feldbahn here:

Wouldn't this be an ideal locomotive for the Ffestiniog? Not that they're short of mid sized locomotives at the minute. I've always liked the Feldbahns though so I hope this stays in the country.

I think up to around 20 locos were imported from the Sena Estates, and perhaps half of those were Feldbahns, so the odds of it being the one from Penrhyn are about 1 in 10! Never went to see them myself but I believe one or two were relatively incomplete, e.g. no wheels! One has since gone back to S. Africa, there's one at the Wes Lancs, one at Amerton and I think Joe Nemeth had one at one time. I've never seen a definitive list of what came back in that batch, but there's a couple of Fowlers at Bredgar and a pair of Lawleys at Aberystwyth that I think were part of it - does anyone know the full story?

I have 12 listed as currently in UK:

    Hanomag
    8282/1917 Rob Gambrill Warnford, Hants
    8310/1918 Hampshire NGRS

    Henschel
    14019/1916 Amerton Railway
    14676/1917 West Lancs Light Railway
    14928/1917 Statfold Barn Railway
    14968/1917 Nigel Heath Witney
    15540/1917 Penrhyn Railway Trust
    15551/1917 J. Martin Maidstone (Hunton?)
    15968/1918 North Gloucestershire Railway

    Maffei
    4766/1916 Vale of Rheidol(Heritage) Aberystwyth

    O & K
    8356/1917 Rob Gambrill Warnford, Hants

    Schwartzkopf (BMAG)
    6728/1918 Aaron Teifel Warnford, Hants

I'm confident of the loco details but can't guarantee the privately owned details - owner & location.

Take your pick. I believe the only currently operational example is the Hants NGRS one.

If anybody has any more up to date data, I would be grateful for details.

One did visit in 1995 http://www.festipedia.org.uk/wiki/Burgonde but the FR already has more locos than it knows what to do with.

I have some (comercially bought) video of the French Feldbahn on the FR and it rocked and rolled considerably at speed, thought Dave Black looked to be enjoying himself....or was that with the visiting ALCo

I have some video of the Feldbahn loco on the FR; it is coming straight towards me on the straight section between Lottie's Crossing and Minffordd Weighhouse and, yes, she certainly does wiggle!!

it's not wiggling, it's using its built-in bullet dodging design. they were built with the trenches in mind, so the more it rolls the less likely it is it will get hit by anything. Unfortunately this design feature can't be switched off.

The one listed as belonging to HNGRS I believe is in actual in private ownership on the former HNGRS site and not actually owned up them at all...

Interested in the 3 in Warnford though. I know someone who lives in Warnford associated with the VoR...

It isn't owned by HNGRS, the only two steam locos owned by them are ex-Dorothea Bagnall 0-4-0ST 2091/1919 'Wendy' and ex-Dinorwic Hunslet 0-4-0ST 542/1891 'Cloister', both based at Amberley Musem.

It is not the purchase price which would be the struggle to achieve it is the £50-100K to get it steaming again...

I think the wife may notice if it appeared in the garage at home?
