Ferrybridge No.3 Steams at Wirksworth

    We are delighted to announce that Ferrybridge No.3, mentioned previously on this forum (http://railways.national-preservati...e-No3-quot-Wee-Yorkie-quot-Passes-Boiler-Test) was returned to service today.

    Locomotive Ferrybridge No.3 ran her first train this lunchtime after an 18-month restoration project following over 30 years out of service.

    Well, from small acorns etc.etc. Next year we shall have a clear nine mile run up a 1 in 100 gradient to Wirksworth, so watch this space!

    Thanks also: a lot of people (not me, I just watched in amazement) did a lot of hard work in a comparatively short time. Thanks also for comment about the picture, I'm sure there will be many more to come in the next few weeks.
