Sir William McAlpine's Fawley Hill Railway will be open to the public on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th May 2014, as part of the Vintage Extravaganza.

The lineup is quite extraordinary. http://www.fawleyhill.co.uk/

The Sierra Leone National Railway Museum team will be there with our little stand.

    Who's coming?

I've heard the Ffestiniog are bringing an engine... a lot of road engines are also now booked.
12,500 visitors last year... hope for good weather this time round. This is what they're expecting...

"from CAMELS to PLANES (Hurricane, Spitfire, Red Arrows’ plane, Nine Tiger Moths + more coming) and MACHINERY: from STATIONARY ENGINES TO TRACTION ENGINES, HORSE-DRAWN PLOUGHS to PLOUGHING ENGINES to JCBs. STEAM CARS to FERRARIS, STEAM ROLLERS, LAWN MOWERS, MOTOR BIKES, BUSES, VANS, LORRIES, SCOOTERS, BICYCLES, an AMAZING ARRAY OF MILITARY MIGHT, FIRE ENGINES, a STEAM BUS, the odd TANK, a FOUNDRY: even BOATS!

"Our 101yr old Steam Engine, No. 31 may be joined by a few visiting engines and will puff up and down the world’s steepest gradient all day each day carrying passengers from our Victorian Station. Don’t forget the HUGE Railway Museum too: only the NRM has anything comparable and some say this is better! We are offering guided tours."
