    Interesting that even the DM readers seemed to think a little more probing to try and answer certain differences between what the tenant said he had done and what the Housing Association seemed to think he had done might have been "good journalism"!

    (Or is "good journalism" these days tapping 'phones and offering bungs to public officials?!?)

    Sorry but I've no sympathy. It's not his house and to have done all of this without the correct planning application which would have confirmed if the alterations included sufficient strengthening is just beyond belief.

    The article mentions that he's applied flame retardant to the model buildings, but has he done so to the plywood lining on the roof rafters? That is certainly a potential hazard - and how well vented is the space between the rafters? I can understand the concerns of the housing association and just hope they can come to some agreement with their tenant so he doesn't have to dismantle the railway and they can do their necessary checks.

    If that's the quality of journalism involved, I wouldn't read much into the story...

    No excuse for a run round loop that is only long enough for 1 coach...
    and whats that DMU doing with a Mark 1 ? :)
