    Dear all,

    Just to let you know that we are starting to get to grips with the line up for our Home Fleet Gala in August.

    We have confirmed that Class 33 035 will be joining the railway and, assuming trials prior to the event are successful, the locomotive will be available for passenger trains during the event.

    More information at http://www.e-v-r.com/eventinfo/

    We are still finalising the line up and hope to add more yet. The timetables will be available in the near future.

    There are no other locomotives waiting in the wings. The timetables will be published shortly.

    The timetables for both days of the event are now available on the website at http://www.e-v-r.com/eventinfo/

    33 035 and 31 414 will both be running on the Duffield line (assuming the usual) alongside a DMU consist. We will be running our usual timetable on the Saturday to connect with the excellent East Midlands Trains service between Nottingham and Matlock. There will even be an extra later service to allow you to enjoy the beautiful valley in the evening. On the Sunday, there will be a more intense timetable instead. The 1 in 27 Ravenstor incline shuttles will operate every half an hour with a variety of different vehicles.

    A 2-Day Rover ticket is available at £17 for those who are with us for both days.

    Any plans to ever install any passing loops at some point?

    A passing loop will be installed at Shottle. They are going to start the project soon I think but the main thing was to get the line opened and running first - to open 9 miles in 10 years is enough for the P-Way gang to earn a short rest!

    If anything they must be now well overdue for a rest...lol

    For anyone who would like to know more on the EVR's current activities I would firstly recommend the online news feed, It can be an interesting read with reports on the railways progress and performance most days of the week;

    Unfortunately this is correct. As far as I can gather they were supposed to pick up the locomotive from Washwood Heath yesterday but couldn't due to a faulty lorry or something. I gather there is a tiny chance that it may arrive by Friday but this wouldn't leave enough time for examination etc so the railway have decided to revert to Plan B instead as a precaution. If the locomotive does arrive with enough time to spare there is a small possibility it may feature somewhere.

    Having said that, it should still be a great weekend as it may be one of the only chances to ride 31 414 on the Duffield line and it will be the first time there has been Diesel locomotive hauled services too!

    The railway still intend to run 33 035 one weekend before the season is finished as well, so watch this space!

    Class 33035 has finally arrived at the railway. It was unloaded from the trailer at about 17:30. This is unfortunately too late for runs on Saturday but if some light work goes well tomorrow, then it may feature somewhere on Sunday. We hope to have it available for show.

    It then had to shunt some wagons to park up and they reckon it was the first useful movement the locomotive had done since 1994!
