The support crew for 46233 have a busy time, 60009 is unavailable so the Duchess is on the CME tomorrow Sat 27th.

Yes most likely, it's difficult to justify the use of a 5 with a load of 12 or 13 on the WCML when there is a pacific available.

As I understand it, 46233 was always the planned loco for this tour. Let's see if the 47 is on the back (if at all).

In theory it'll haul the train to Crewe, then stay on the back. Fingers crossed, because the forecast its looking good, and I don't fancy a 500 mile round trip for sod all!

Might get the gig for the season instead of 45305?

But that's if they have sufficient support crew who can or want to do back to backs every weekend.

Lets hope the current rains get a decent hold for a few days as it must have been frustrating going out to film such a wonderful steam loco being pushed around by the diesel as much as 46233 was.

Good stuff Steve, enjoyed the chinwag today and as Kent Yeti says we need some wet weather to see the Duchess really stretch its legs

Flustrating is bang on as I could see why the steam was on the front for the punters but it seemed a waste of time otherwise .

I was on board today. The hot weather has certainly created an atmosphere of caution! Just think of the consequences if there had been a lines side fire.
