This train is now diesel hauled throughout due to non-availability of the B1 61306. If previous reports of a cracked axlebox are correct, then I fear that the B1 may be out of action for the rest of the year. It has been removed from the remaining services at the Steam Dreams website.

As far as main line steam is concerned surely 2016 has to be an improvement over this year. :( .....doesn't it? <BJ>

It was due to go to Carnforth on or around 23rd December. Boiler out to Dalgleish, mechanical work by CRRES followed by a repaint.
    Source: RM latest issue.

According to the letter that came with the tickets for Saturdays trip to Salisbury (not Winchester anymore due to issues at Eastleigh) 45407 is coming to the rescue and I would assume it will take the lunch tour of Kent next week.

Support crew issues perhaps. It's a long, long day for a support crew so maybe two days on the trot would be difficult to cover.

True, many forget that it requires quite a few volunteers to support a main line loco for one day, let alone two on the bounce, not forgetting that most of them live in the Midlands so that's another day at either end, then the fact that they have day jobs as well, so that involves time off, again something that cannot always be got at short notice.
