It's been mentioned in the Steam Railway section but I thought it was best to put it here.
It's out now and this is what it looks like:[attachment=0:1u2lziv6]ai.php.jpg[/attachment:1u2lziv6]

Don't know what it's like as I haven't managed to get one yet.

Seems to have been in Smiths in Plymouth for ages.

Is this really HR's commemoration of the events of 1968, or a more general publication?

I hope this isn't the HR book. Some interesting photo's but apart from that it isn't 8 quids worth in my opinion.

Well apparently it is one of 2 books. Taken form the thread in the Steam Railway section:
British Steam 1948-1968 is NOT the end of steam commemorative issue that we were expecting - there's another one coming right on its tail. Just be patient! How do I know this? Simple, because it says so at the foot of page 72 in the current issue of Heritage Railway! What we are all actually waiting for is, I understand, called Steam - The Grand Finale. I've already seen the cover for it on some other website, but, for the life of me, I can't recall where.
After all the recent disallusionments, I sincerely hope that this one really is "written by people who were 'actually there'" and actually will contain "an enormous amount of unique material". I really can't afford 30 quid to read something that will bring 1968 back to life for me.
