Apologies for leaving this out at uksteam.info - It is now showing ! It is apparently steam hauled from Carlisle via Whitehaven back to Carnforth, but there is no path showing yet in RTT to get the loco to Carlisle. I guess it might double head on the Cumbrian Mountain Express from Carnforth via Shap to Carlisle ?

Now that could be a good shout and one to watch out for. Which loco's involved, going which way on the return, as 46115 would probably be the choice for both if Jubilee's are out of gauge for the coast still (if that was ever the case)?

5043 is due round the following week. Its hard to believe a castle fits but a Jubilee doesn't. 46115 has had its cab modified to bring it in gauge.

Regarding the WCME it's planned to be double headed from Carnforth to Carlisle but 46115 is staying on the WCME so the only loco that can realistically work the tour is a Jubilee as 44932's apparently under overhaul, 45231's being repaired after failing at Llangollen & none of the Bullied's on Carnforth will be ready intime. Recon the loco chosen will be Leander.

Jubilees are out of gauge on the Cumbrian Coast. 48151, is likely, unless the, Scot, goes down the coast & the 8F does the S&C.

Would there be a speed problem with 48151 on the way to Carlisle, if the timings are already established?

Yes. When 48151 hauled the CCE last year instead of 46115, we were late into Carlisle.

46115 along the Coast and Leander along the S&C perhaps?

I Remember that run with 48151 over Shap as I was on that tour. First over Shap in preservation that was, would be great to see that repeated but again timings could be an issue.

Very stupid question, but if 48151 was coupled inside 46115 and in theory not working would the speed still be be limited?

That would be the best practical solution.
