As part of 'Something for Sundays' down at Bo'ness, for the second time this year a Vintage Coach Day was run on the 9th September. This included Austerity No. 7 hauling the Caledonian coaches, but the biggest draw was LNER D49 No. 246 "Morayshire" on the Teak Set.

Previously this Teak set has been simply two Thompson Coaches, a Third Class Tourist Open No. 13803 and Brake Composite No. 80417E. This has been the usual running combination behind the Shire on vintage carriage days, or Fathers Day events. But by good timing, the event also acted as the return to service of the Gresley Buffet Coach No. 644. This has now increased the Teak set to 3 carriages, now providing a more appropriate train to have marshalled behind the D49. Hopefully in future years more can be included by future restorations!

I only managed to photos yesterday due to other commitments ( and sadly it being a grey day for weather ), but the first shows now what can be shown behind the D49 on special events and even photo charters I believe. The vintage coaches have been a great, if little draw, for visitors to the railway. To strengthen these events by both carriage numbers, and numbers of visitors, would be great! :
