6 late at Ascot with diesel on the back but safe in the knowledge that, as always with DBS, it won't be doing anything. Beautiful Surrey weather today.

Tornado must be speeding along at quite a pace this evening. According to RTT it managed to run the 11 miles from Bristol to Bath in 6.5mins. It also managed to pass Keynsham (5 miles) in minus 90 seconds. I think not. <BJ>
    Bristol Temple Meads 1655 (16L)
    Keynsham pass 1653½ (6L)
    Bath Spa arr 1701½ (5.5 L)

A1ST tweeted earlier 64mph over Savernake with 640 tons behind the tender. Pretty impressive!

Steam turbo and tender axle driven alternators for loco systems - a long way short of ETH requirements though :)

Especially as we KNOW that the diesel isn't pushing. WOW! What absolutely brutal power. Surely it's time for WCR to mend their differences and start to use this magnificent locomotive which is largely underused these days?

A couple of shots from me at Crofton and the site of the former Savernake Low Level Station.

Tornado really is a superb machine. It runs like a sewing machine. <BJ>

I was referring to the Belmond Pullman train, not the locomotive.
