I recently bought a Bachmann US NKP 2-8-4 which I am pleased with, nice model, runs well etc. Am thinking of buying one of their Santa Fe 2-10-4s but have seen a few mixed reviews of it, from a running point of view; has anyone on here had any experience of them?

A friend of mine has one, but I have not had too close a look at it. It is a re-run from an old tool set with no detail updates and so is a bit dated, where as the Berkshire was a new design recently. Don't know about the chasis, though I would still prefer a Proto or Brass version.

Thanks for the info, will maybe wait until I can see one close up before buying.

I have a GS-4 also, but it wont pull the skin off a rice pudding. I bought a Westside brass one a few years ago and side by side they look ok, but the brass one wins hands down and it will pull more the four cars up our hill. Both can be seen at http://www.chappers.fotopic.net/c849898.html
