Good evening. Just to let you know that the Moseley Railway Trust will be having FOUR steam days before the end of the operating season; these will be next weekend, 9 & 10 October, and the weekend after, 16 & 17 October. On each day, trains will run from 11.00 to 16.30. We'll be running the Kerr Stuart "Stanhope" plus the visiting vertical boiler loco "Paddy". Also, some of the heritage diesel fleet are looking forward to stretching their legs on the main line with freight trains. Quite a mini-gala, one might say?

We probably won't be as overwhelmed by visitor numbers as we were at the Opening Weekend, so we hope we'll have time to show interested visitors around the Aurora North building. If time and staffing permits, we'll try to arrange escorted access to the normally out-of-bounds Red Shed and the locos now stored in a container (two Rustons, a battery loco and an Orenstein & Koppel).

All this arises from the need to train steam crews plus a minor foul-up in the publicity department for which the responsible person has been strung up from a tree. Harsh, but fair, we said.

Hopefully see a few of you there? See www.mrt.org.uk for more details.

    Regards,

    Simon Lomax
