Yes I am an active volunteer
A trip to Peak Rail was well in order to see one rather stunning 8F, it looks smashing and was well worth the visit, will be back again to see her.

    The Day consisted of:
    - 8624 departing Matlock Riverside
    - WD150 approaching Matlock / WD150 climbing up Matlock Straight
    - 8624 both tender first and smokebox first passing Normanhurst farm
    - WD150 near Normanhurst farm bridge
    - WD150 near 'Old Road' on her approach to Darley Dale
    - 8624 near 'Old Road'
    - 8624 approaching Darley Dale
    - WD150 departing away from Darley Dale near 'Old Road'
    - 8624 & WD150 at Darley Dale station
    - WD150 passing Normanhurst Farm
    - WD150 climbing out of Matlock

I've uploaded a couple of shots from yesterday, the rest will be available on the May & June DVD available next month.

great shots..im sure the public will appreciate a big red shiny loco more than yet another black one....I dont really approve I guess, but yet i do somehow.

as an aside why the narrow guage tracks inside the standard ones on the viaduct?

The inner rails are guard rails to keep the train pointing straight ahead if it should ever de-rail.
