According to times just posted, Cromwell comes off at Carnforth rather than Preston on the return leg of this run. I see the loco then runs south to Crewe. I assume there is some operational problem in the up direction at Preston. Carnforth good loop surely poses problems too, as the locos at least in my experience have to block the main line coming off and joining the train.

Obviously no one is on this or has any interest in it, apart from me!

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I will be able to go out and see it somewhere between preston and Blackburn before work.

We left Crewe 10 late. Not sure I can update Railtour live as I've changed my phone number, that and the blackberry battery is dropping rather quickly already.

Left Preston 19 late. Had to wait for a few late running virgins and TPEs to go either way, and after coupling the train was fouling the signal and had to shunt back. Load is now 13 for those interested.

Thanks again for the update Phil. I saw it at Pleasington at 11.38 so around 20 mins late at that point. Ollie sounded and looked great and was well in command of the 13 coach load.

I will check out the vid after work.

    Neil.
