    Reading HR mag today. There is a article regarding the up coming sale of 60022 Mallard smokebox numberplate. The plate should fletch between £5000 to £7000 according to the article. Surley this number plate will exceed the price that is being talked about. It's not everyday someone can own a part of British railway history. I also wonder if the NRM have also got their eye on this item.

    Having had the chance to handle it, it looks OK (as something like this is an obvious one for reproductions). Assuming Mr H wants it, that's a plus and minus for the price, as a number of potential bidders probably don't see much point in going head to head with him. Still, you only need one other.
