Pity Gresley can't bring the train back as far as Darlington given it is preceding the train down the same route (albeit somewhat earlier)

Got my tickets yesterday. I have my reservations about the timings particularly the 15 min stop at Stoke Tunnel. Hopefully the run from York to Newcastle should make up for it.

Too late, once it's been said. (Maybe 60007 should not be allowed to leave the ECML before New Year - just in case)

    My tickets also arrived yesterday.

Mixture of slow line and Fast line south of Peterborough. Slow line up Stoke then I guess we wait for a path. Hopefully we'll have chance for a good run to Doncaster, then on to York. Interestingly we are booked SL through Potters Bar and as the 30mph restriction through the platform only applies on the Fast then this might be an advantage.

Sorry but York to Darlington is also booked slow line (60 mins for 44 miles!). No more slow line after that, so unless we are following something slow we should get a run into Newcastle.

    Tickets turned up yesterday.

Am I the only one worried that the weather might affect this tour???

Happy to be corrected but I dont think there is any more slow lines after that! Just loops.

I doubt if there will much "slow line" running after Northallerton as, apart from loops, the ECML is double rather than quadruple train except at Ferryhill and from Tyne Yard.

Question:- Can you fit a snow plough to the front of an A4?

Snow lying in Durham and Newcastle today. Dont worry we can cope with a little snow unlike London!
I would worry about the tour - Gresley can be used to unfreeze any troublesome points (actually thats a point, perhaps she will be requisitioned by NR!)
On a serious note, a few delays noted today but the train I was on was apparently delayed to a broken down train blocking access from the depot rather than the weather.

I hope the steam heat is fully functioning.

Should make a great sight, I hope it's not cancelled.

This was the scene this morning, deep and crisp and even.
