Load 11, no box, very wet on the outbound, solid show with 11 coaches posing no problem.

The brisk northeasterly wind carried the sound of Leander's exhaust for over 5 minutes before she rounded the curve on the approach to Ramsgreave and Wilpshire station which she blasted through almost 8E, going well and sounding magnificent as she breasted the summit. A quick relocate to Cherry Tree was rewarded with a RT appearance and the "Jubilee Roar" as she flashed by.

I had hoped to be out to see the morning run but Mrs W sent be to the dentist instead (to have a wisdom tooth fitted!)

We are very lucky on here as some people are prepared to go out in any conditions to photograph a train:Stop:.

Henry, someone both you and I know coined the phrase 'sunshine is for wimps' and he is right. With digital editing a decent image can be produced in all sorts of conditions and perversely has seen a big revival in b/w. Dust off your copies of Gifford's three books and be inspired! If you don't have them look on eBay.

Faultless performance yesterday, the northbound run just edged it for me, and a great sound up Wilpshire to finish the day off !

Good coverage Liam , you're a brave man going onto that farm at Horton without incurring the wrath of the farmer !!! or give him some money to pacify him, or her !!
