    Grosmont shed staff were casting a concrete arch on 45428 today, suggesting that it is now very close to being steamed after overhaul. Another one done, now on to the Q6, which it is hoped will also be ready for the peak season. Meanwhile, the diesel department today saw the O4 shunter D2207 move under its own power today after re-engining. This was the first time it had moved under its own power for about 10 years.

    5428 made its first running in trips up the bank today - pics on the Grosmont Shed FB page. 63395 should be next steam loco in traffic, and 37264 next diesel, as the traction motor replacement has been completed at Pickering and the loco returned to Grosmont - presumably after a year oou it needs other attention before it can be started up.
