Digging up the past eh Mark, and if you open two links to youtube you can have it from the other side of the train at the same time... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7IyhYQ1-8w

Interesting to note how much the picture quality has improved in the few years since that was shot.

If I could dig my tapes out I wonder with a re edit I wonder how much the quality could be improved? First problem, find the tapes for that year.....

I'd say it will probably go up quite a bit, seen as though you were filming in good quality to start with......

Im just going off simple 8mm some of them not even "hi-8". Plus i'm having to go through a converter.

You are right it does make a difference even in 360, watching it in 720 goes up quite a step and this was not a HD camera.

Amazing difference in quality between that and your original!

Yes, very nice and good to see/hear the 'Rocket' again.

What software do you use Ralph?

    Pinnacle studio plus version 12. HD 1280 X 720, MPEG 4, Data rate 8000 Kbits/sec, with the sound at 192 Kbits/sec.
Original was probably Studio 9 at 360 x whatever, AVI, picture data at 4000 and sound about 100.

I was please to find that my tapes were sitting in a box at the bottom of a wardrobe, where else, and were reasonably well labelled. Must get out some others and redo them at better quality, perhaps in the cold dark winters nights.......
