I doubt if anybody at Sheffield Park can be definite about the date for steaming if this engine. It would probably be best if you checked the loco roster http://www.bluebell-railway.co.uk/bluebell/loco_roster.html or gave the railway office 01825 720813 a call before you set off.

    Regards

    34007,

Could you rename this thread... it is rather misleading.

Where is Rough Shunter? Shouldn't he have posted "It'll be ready when it's ready" by now!

How is this misleading? I'm just going by the updates of 34059...
If someone from the bluebell has an idea when she will be ready it would be greatly appreciated! Me and my mate from the MHR love Bulleids and this a day we don't want to miss.

Then name it "34059 (Sir Archibald Sinclair) any updates?"

The way i read it makes it sound like the loco is in service now. And i would think others would have read it like that at first glance too.

It's misleading and you can't argue that it isn't. What you have put is a statement, plain and simple. A question mark might have put a slightly different spin on it, but not much.

Mr. 34007, there is a big difference between the "loco complete" steam test. And the first passenger train.

However, I don't think either are that far away...

Can't we all just recognise the achievement of those that have restored yet another of these fabulous machines to traffic? (nearly).

Okay, I'm not that silly to assume that probably 34059 is due either in Steam Test or her first service train by Easter - But any help etc would be much appreciated?

A BoB in Steam which hasn't run for 40 odd years in my opinion is due an anniversary.....

I would imagine that somebody from the Bulleid Society would post a message on NP when the engine is ready and then you can be there along with everybody else!

It's a shame that your enthusiasm has been at the centre of conflict but I have to say that when I first saw the topic I was mislead too.

I thought an update on the loco for all to see and of which I have been following; would get some people excited. All I was trying to get was a rough idea of when she should be in traffic of her first steaming? Now I don't see that as a conflict...

    Enough!

34007, I know you mean well, but please think a bit harder when posting topics in future as to the impression they give.

The rest of you, did it really need repeating over and over again?

Now, get back on topic please. [-X

No problem Stepney! Sorry for any confusion - I did explain more in the body in my defence..

Seen as you are involved with the Bluebell - Maybe you can help shine some light to when she might have her first major steaming? Is she likely to be without her smoke deflectors for her test steam (Like Braunton was)?

Any idea if she may have her nameplate fitted?

34007 you have a computer. Why don't you check the Bluebell website for the regular updates about 34059.

Unfortunately, I have no information which is any more up to date than what it on either the Bluebell or the Bulleid society website. As far as I know, however, the intention is to ensure she is ready for the high summer season, although Easter would be a nice bonus. Mainly to take some of the workload off 80151 and 1638.

The Bluebell don't keep any updates on her from what I can see?! Although the Bulleid Society does and what a fab job they do to, with regular updates. 34059 does look like she might be in traffic before the summer. And I agree with taking the workload off the other locos! They need a bit of a break and I can see the Bluebell doing very well when she does come into steam!

What on earth did you lot jump down the poor sod,s throat for?, is this a side affect of the recession I wonder??.Stepney you need taking to task fot your attitude too mate, there was little need for the way you said it, I thought better of you than that.

Ease up guys please?, thanks in advance.
