I am currently trying to produce a model of the 15 guinea special. Does anyone have the coaching stock running numbers and the order they ran in the train. The rivet counters can be quite pedantic so it would be nice to get it right from the off.

Copied from the yahoo British rail Coaching stock site:

    >
    > They list the formation as :-
    > BSO E9223 Maroon
    > TSO M4995 Blue/Grey
    > RK M80037 Blue/Grey
    > TSO M4933 Blue/Grey
    > TSO M4943 Maroon
    > TSO E4497 Blue/Grey
    > TSO M4937 Blue/Grey
    > RK M80028 Blue/Grey
    > TSO E4288 Blue/Grey
    > BSO E9253 Maroon

    Hope this helps.

There was an article in Model Rail mag and Hornby mag around the July / August time last year, with full details of how to replicate the train...

That sounds like a 12"-1' problem....
I *think* three or four of the coaches survive in preservation.

Remember reading somewhere that East lancs have a few of the coaches...

The only two that now survive are M4933 and M4937, indeed they are on the ELR and are presently coupled together with door stickers giving their history - both are immaculate having been re-painted (but in maroon) and re-upholstered last year for the 1T57 40th. celebrations.
4286 was preserved and spet time on the Painton & Dartmouth, but was then sold off (body only) - has since been cut up.
