Cheers for those kind words, I'll pass them onto Andy (not sure if he's on here but he certainly doesn't post here!)
Hoping to have 50027 open...
What he said!
Final guest announcement for the MHR Diesel Gala of 33111 + LUL 4TC. A real southern flavour this year.
Here's some happier MHR news
Just had the email come through confirming a Freightliner Class 66 for the gala. Yes that is a DIESEL-electric...
My new favourite quote on this matter is "Well technically most diesel locomotives are electric, they just have an onboard powerplant".
The last time it worked I want to say was around 2009? It has been to a few depot open days though
2 EPB 5759 joining the previously mentioned MLVs for the 'diesel' gala
This Saturday's Barn Owl service is now diesel hauled (20188) :)
Sadly otherwise engaged or else I'd be there in a heartbeat!
Some advertised diesel running for Vintage Vehicles weekend. On the Ropley diagram Sat/Sun (21/22 May) only. Friday is only a 1 train (steam) service.
I'd like to hope that maybe one or two days this year the 33 could be rostered to work the entire turn. Was speaking to a few friends of mine who...
All being well should work a round trip from Alresford approx 1215 for MHR ticket holders. Usual disclaimers apply
Update, more gen here:...
Noticed this morning that the MHR "fun on the line in 39" and "War on the Line" events have disappeared from the special days page of the...
When I've taken the other half's parents to the Mid-Hants they've been more interested in the coaches rather than the steam engine on the front...
Speaking of 27
Diesels everywhere this evening
Late would be better behind 27. A nice 6 car dual braked, electric heat set would be grand!
The only diesels the railway owns are the shunters and 1125. All the 'big' ones are privately owned.
Some people apparently quite like the things, plus in my opinion the more diesels the merrier!
20059/188 + 50027 all in service with 47579 also probably back in traffic by then! Definitely enough locos to run a comprehensive service.
To get back on track publicly announced today that you can visit Ropley to watch the illuminations from the picnic area with the T-junction open...
There's a slightly revised TT on the website (see front page) but the majority of it is the same.
