Yeah it's a bit late to start getting more coaches and the railway has plenty as it is to be be keeping care of.

Anyway, things ran relatively smoothly today. Some changes to planned shunting at Bridgnorth probably helped this. Hopefully it will go the same tomorrow and over the weekend.

Went over for today and really enjoyed it, first time I have properly visited the SVR - apparently I was taken there as a young child but I don't remember it! Seriously tempted to make the trip over again during the weekend, depending on the weather.

Aaaagh, another pint of Sadler's Mellow Yellow please......

Seriously, we enjoyed our day, it's a lovely railway and the weather was superb. Really enjoyed the engine house, which was just being built last time we came, what a well designed facility.

Right, commute into work and about 4 hours of work and then it's off to Marylebone and a 67 to the gala

Did the 9am from Kidd get off OK this morning (Fri)? (Presuming SKP was at the head of the train). Just wondered after the issues last year.

Nice shots, I especially like the 4F! Anyone know when its due to be running tomorrow (off Bridgnorth)? I'm hoping to catch a ride behind it, so will try to arrive based on where it is expected. Is it being shedded at Bridgnorth or Bewdley?

If the rain in Birmingham is anything to go by, the weather doesn't look too good today for the SVR :-(.

I'm coming down tomorrow am and hoping to catch up with 88, 73129, 43924 and SKP during the day. Maybe a pint of something dark and frothy at the Railwaymans Arms and another at the King and Castle. That Bathams stuff sounds interesting, if possibly dangerously more-ish!

    Can't wait.

Does anybody know if tickets can be bought on the train at galas? Would the ticket office be open in time for the 0805 off Bewdley Sunday?

To answer the first part of your question, I have bought a Gala rover on the train at a previous SVR Gala, so avoiding missing the train due to a booking office queue ( at Kidderminster). However, unless things have changed, TTI's deal in cash only.

This has to be the top event of the year doesn't it.
Currently sat on the toplight set at Bridgenorth behind the M7 have a pint in hand for the journey.
The atmosphere of the yard is amazing the only way it could be improved would be to have a steam shuntter instead of the 08

Exagerated slightly I do love my beer me well into my double figures today tho! At least 8 bottles of SKP, 3 on draupht 3 2857's a couple of Flying Pigs an 88 & a couple of Black 5's. On any other line that'd be a top line up, motive power wise superb day today apart from the weather. And I get to do it all again tomorrow!

Oh stop it, it's actually hurting me now, knowing I won't be there until Sunday, when things could have all gone to pot! (I'm sure it will be fine...)

Thanks for the reply. I misread the timetable, for some reason came to the assumption that SKP was on the 1st train.
