Unintentionally perhaps, you have made "bean-counter"'s point for him.

The reference to "jam tomorrow" comes from "Alice in Wonderland". The full quotation goes something like "Jam tomorrow and jam yesterday but never, ever, jam today".

Jon has kindly provided the list of CVR projects I requested here ....

Please comment on that thread, not here, as it is not MCR business.

I hope this is a typo, otherwise it appears that lil Bear is agreeing with C&K.

You may be right. On the other hand no-body believed Peter when he said there was a wolf simply because it was Peter who said it. If the message is correct, who the messenger is does not matter.

Despite all the knockers the PWay gang are still maintaining the line up to Ipstones. Replacing concrete sleepers this week. Fortunately had the Hiab to help move them around. DSCF2622.JPG DSCF2625.JPG DSCF2626.JPG

May I suggest that all members of the CVR/MCR on here leave this forum, everything that is said is twisted and turned to anti the Cvr/MCR. Lets just leave it to all of the knockers. What you don't see you won't grieve over. Its to heartbreaking to leave, have tried to not post anything except photos recently but we volunteers cannot put up with it any more. Like I said only this and CVR thread are the ones Iwill no longer follow.

Didn't Peter (in the Fairy tale) have a reputation for being an attention seeker who couldn't get his facts right?

the scrapping of various bits and bobs described by Bog & Dogger, unless he's telling complete and utter lies, but I can't quite believe that, although I expect there are perfectly good reasons for it. (maybe the qoute didn't show up, I did check and it's there...)

I'm reading and re-reading my post but I can't see why it is been quoted by P/wayman preceding his comments of him no longer reading. All I was hoping for was a reasonable explanation of the facts (or not as it may well be) about items being scrapped I quoted in my post. How's that knocking people? previously I asked what I felt was a pertinent question, which was met with a bad response by someone who told me in no uncertain terms that my own local railway's stock was terrible so I didn't have a leg to stand on, which I didn't think was very nice.

Maybe (with the exception of Soggy Dogger) you are getting a little sensative to pressing questions? It's only what's to be expected with an ambitious project like this. As I've said, I'd be quite happy answering questions about the GWSR until the cows come home, at least as it would be something I could talk about with some vague notion I might be correct :)

Yes he was but was right in the end!
(Incidentally I am not taking the part of C&K but certainly feel that neither "side" have a particularly estimable attitude to one another)

I am sure that all flying scotsman123 was asking for was some background as to a) whether the allegations of scrapping from C & K were factually accurate and b) why the scrapping had taken place. Most heritage sites have called time and scrapped things over the years, and it usually (should always?) feel wrong but you have to do it with some items. Answering the question is surely the best way to prevent anyone believing C & K - saying "that's it, we quit" might have a somewhat opposite effect.

Does what is said on an internet forum matter? I am constantly told I take too much notice of the internet rumour mill, but you only have to look at how far and wide the mis-interpretation of that video of 34067 at Dawlish last week has got to see that much of the media see the internet as a major source of news. If all they can find is the allegations and nobody willing to post facts to disprove them, the risk, no matter how slim, of things getting out of hand remains.

Love it or hate it, Internet forums are here to stay. It's no use burying your head in the sand and hoping it will all go away, as P/wayman is suggesting. The best thing that you can do it provide factual information and rebut any inaccurate statements. Friend Beancounter often gets exasperated at some of the posts on the NYMR forum but he knows that the best thing he can do is counter rumour with the truth. It always wins, in the end.

Sorry, my fault - I'd got C&K turned off, so yr quote of his post was invisible. I can't answer your question as I'm not privy to the decision processes behind much of what has mentioned. I merely assist in keeping the p/way in order. Any lifting is done by contractors, not the p/way gang - see NeilL's pics above.

I understand you being upset, but i) not everyone here is a knocker, and ii) we do like to hear what's going on.
