(I can't see any other thread)
The first visitor has been announced as 43924 from Keighley with 73129 maybe staying on for the gala, as of the moment it is yet to be comfirmed/decided.
Thursday is a 'preview' day which I've heard is along the lines of a normal timetable with the visitors out and about and things added in. I'm sure we will hear more about this nearer the gala.

S&DJR '7F' no. 88 will also be visiting for ASG (as per the SVR website)
Looks like a S&D theme then.

City of Wells would be interesting and would be the unrebuilt to with SKP being a rebuilt. But we shall see...4 months to go.

    So Line-Up of;

    V: 30053 / 43924 / 13808 / 73129
    H: 1450 / 1501 / 2857 / 4566 / 7812 / 34053 / 43106

Not sure, but certainly the first in its current guise, and great news regardless! I moved to within about 45 miles of the SVR just three years ago and can't believe how spoilt I've been for Southern engines - 30120, 31806, 34007 and, or course, the resident 34053. (I missed USA No.65 sadly) Now 30053 is visiting and 34027 will hopefully be back in in action soon. Wonderful - and this is just the SVR. We've also had 34046, 34067 and 35028 on the main line in the Gloucestershire area, and 35006 looked not far off completion when i saw it at Toddington last May.

So it's all your fault then ;)

Hmm, we'll see how it goes. Not had a ride behind the 4F or the M7 before, but other than that it's ok. Can we have a midlands gala next year? LMS and GWR with the odd foreign loco aka 34027 and 34053? Sounds quite good to me.

Lovely loco with loads of oomph when needed. Be great to see it on the SVR. Well done to all involved!

Steam Railway lists 1501 as spare.

Lets just hope everything goes to plan...unlike last year's line up.

Last year went belly up because of 46233 not being able to maintain vacuum.
Timetable is pretty similar to last year with a few changes.

I was referring to the line up as of what was orginally announced, only Met 1 actually came. Still, nothing air-braked to go wrong this time.

Line up sounds interesting, but significant lack of pre-BR liveried locos again. Whilst 88 breaks this trend, its livery isn't really correct for the loco and doesn't really have a suitable coach set on the SVR. Also, 88 visited in the not-too distant past, so all eyes will presumably be on the 4F and M7.

I just find it incredible that the gala commitee don't appear to realise that the SVR has such a diverse range of coaching stock, yet seems to stick to BR locos. Is nothing painted in Crimson or Apple Green (or any other livery) any more?

running in Apple green 8572 , 1744 (Visited before) and 61306 which has just changed hands

    in LMS 13065

I suspect ELR would be less likely to release the Crab a a newly overhauled loco , 1744 has been before , 8572 visited many years ago and 61306 I suspect wasn't available

4F and M7 are great in my eyes and I'm looking forward to them

Looking forward to a ride behind all the visitors even though already had M7 & 88. Just to to echo Sidmouths point if you've just overhauled your Flagship (as in 13065) wouldnt you make sure you had a good play with it 1st? Im 99% sure they'll be a visit soon by this engine, if you look where SVR engines have gone recently those railways locos have ended up guesting at SVR, and 1501 paid a visit to Lancashire this time last year... As regards locos liveries and stock I think the most obvious combinations have been done for the moment eg Bittern on the teaks. TBF I dont think you can knock the SVR gala wise at the mo, past few years have had some rather intresting and unusual locos guest there. I seem to recall at one point in the 90's Autumn galas always seemed to feature 5029,6024 and 9466 as guests great if your a GW fan but rather dull otherwise.

It depends on what is available for the gala for the right price. The committee have a budget they must work to.

We are blessed with 1930s - 50s coaching stock but how many locos are in pre 48 livery. All eyes will be on 43924 and 30053 as first time visitors. 88 making a last appearance before its ticket finishes.

I've lived within reasonably easy access to the SVR for over 2 1/2 years now and during that time, not a single loco has run over the line that matches the teaks.
