I will be visiting the Swanage railway in a couple of weeks on holiday and noticed that Tornado will be hauling an evening meal train probably just as we arrive, does anyone know what time it'll appear at Corfe Castle, as I'd quite like to pop down and have a look-see. Also will it be operating any more services after that evening meal in the following week? thanks :)

Really enjoyed the Gala last weekend! Such a slick and interesting day. Thanks for all the hard work which must have gone into it, and well done!
You can guess my question re this weekend!

According to the plan, it should be...

6695 on service trains, with 60163 on Driver Experience (Saturday and Sunday AM) and dining trains (Saturday night and Sunday lunchtime). This is subject to 60163 passing a steam test this morning though; as I'm booked on it today though, I guess I'll soon find out...!

Definitely 34028 as one of the locos, the other one will be either 30053 (depending on a quick repair job today) or 6695. I suspect 30053 most likely.

Although I wasn't in work today, 30053 was the second loco on shed when I walked past this evening; should be 34028 and 30053 from tomorrow.

As Eddystone nears withdrawal, just wondering about whether it will be out to play over the next week or so and indeed what the loco plans look like - finally got some time off ! Thanks

As I understand it from our hard-working Ops colleagues who are again doing a grand job keeping the trains running this summer, Eddystone 34028's last day in traffic will be 17 August, and (subject to the normal disclaimer) is rostered to be out on the DMU diagram in the evening too. This means that, should someone be so inclined, they could get 108 miles in behind it over the course of the day (starting with the 10:00 from Swanage).

Hope this helps, and during your visit don't forget to get snapping and entering our great photographic competition: http://www.swanagerailway.co.uk/photo-comp

    Regards, Simon

Many thanks, Simon. I will make every effort to be there!
I would also be grateful for any info about which locos will be working this week and next. Thanks.

I'd have thought the big question everyone is angling at is when 31806 will start appearing on the roster.

In my case it actually isn't about 31806. I'm keen to catch a Bulleid. Sadly no reply here so me and my dosh will be heading for Watercress tomorrow - their website has a loco roster and updates it & Wadebridge is promised!
Of course, 31806 has a certain charm!

To be fair though, you only asked the question 7 hours ago - not everyone monitors NP to check for enquiries!

Point taken about the loco roster online, but I'm sure if you'd rung Swanage station, you'd have got an answer a lot quicker!

You make a fair point, but I was genuinely not grumbling about lack of info here, but about the Swanage website not giving loco info (which is common these days - SVR, Bluebell, Mid Hants etc etc).
I'm actually free most days up to 17th August, so if info comes to hand I will be heading to the seaside pronto!
