We've cleared that out due to the high level of theft/vandalism that goes on there. It's also being used to help pay for "Reconnect Leek".
Should Moneystone ever come off though we'll soon return, but at present Oakamoor creates more problems than solutions for us. You just have to look at the RMB which only needed some minor repairs when it was taken Out of Traffic. Currently undergoing a full rebuild after being trashed.

The list of items stolen or trashed beyond repair is extensive. The DMU group have lost their spares twice IIRC, and S&T have been raided too. The 37s were another victim of the copper fairies as well.

Still waiting for you to confirm how you have taken photos from MCR property when you have stated elsewhere you are too busy to become a working volunteer for CVR.

Only other way would be trespass, which you've already been warned about Mr Adams.

I've been kind enough to answer all questions asked of myself, why don't you do the same?

Just to put the brakes on the 'Knock the NSR' portion of the thread for a minute.....

Foxfield Railway, purchased in its entirety in the 1970s after the preservation society started operations in 1967 with permission of Tean Minerals who were the then owners of the ex-colliery site and railway. Tean Minerals had bought the site and line with the view to moving the raw materials used in their processes by rail but it unfortunately came to nothing.

    Talking of t
Why are you so interested in whether people are trespassing on MCR property that they don't own and only have a lease that they have never paid for? Are you an employee of that commercial company or maybe just an uninsured person who works for them for less than the minimum wage? I would have thought that in order to charge somebody with trespass the company would require some sort of legal powers, such as a Transport and Works Order which they don't appear to have applied for/ been granted yet, which may explain why Network Rail are still liable for all the structures on the line all the way back to Stoke and MCR/CVR cannot run trains to Endon. Problem is of course, MCR only wants the assets like land and scrap steel.
Talking of trespass: The loop at Cauldon Low does not form part of the lease and as a Strategic Freight Site it still belongs to Network Rail; this begs the question of how a load of uninsured, untrained, non PTS accredited unpaid people gained access to the site to remove track materials for use by MCR at Ipstones to form a loop, track materials, by the way, we are told are clapped out and fit only for scrap.
The disused and closed line now forms a perfect footpath now there is no track on it and I am sure that local people such as myself will continue to enjoy walking up there for many years to come.

I thought that MCR were paying for the extension to Barnfields, are you saying that CVR have to rip up on part of their own railway to build another section of line that they will never own?

In your previous seventy posts have you ever said something complimentary about the two companies ?

So basically, yes you are trespassing & you don't give a toss as your a local and can do what you want.

As for your other comments, Do you work for MCR and therefore know the level of competency of MCR staff? Or are you simply guessing, to once again knock any staff associated to that company as you've done numerous times both under this username and others?

Just because you work for the big railway, does not make you greater than the rest of us Mr Adams. In fact, you'd be be surprised of who is actually involved in the whole MCR/CVR Project, there are some very highly qualified people working away in the background. So what some of them are doing it as volunteers, it is their hobby and they are free to do as they choose. If that includes using the skills/knowledge they have acquired all the better for MCR/CVR I say. You could possibly learn a thing or two from such people, but hey its far easier to sit behind a computer and look for reasons to moan isn't it?

Are you sure about the volunteers not having any kind of insurance? I'm pretty sure that I'm covered in some way or another in my volunteering, which is one of the reasons why I have to be a member of the supporting charity at the gwsr.

No he's not sure as he doesn't know, he's simply guessing as he has done so on many occasions previously (and its always doom/gloom if you notice). MCR situation is slightly different to the CVR though with them being a separate Commercial Co. However Nat Pres is not the place to discuss such intricate details.

All you need to know is Mr Adams is a former CVR Volunteer, who works for a National Infrastructure Maintenance Co on Britain's Rlys.
Since he left CVR, no-one associated to the railway can do any good and he always knows better as he has professional knowledge.
The fact some of us within CVR are professional railwaymen with far higher qualifications is irrelevant, as this flaws many of Mr Adams arguments.

I had a feeling that Clog and Knocker was a railway buff on the quiet - that was the name of a line near Sheffield wasn't it?

Interesting that his profile says his name is Bob Raven - yet another poster on NP who may not what he appears to be....

A suitable case for the Mods?

Round here the Clog & Knocker was the Stafford to Uttoxeter line.

Seems a shame that an interesting thread is getting bogged down with the MCR 'discussion'- could Clog & Knocker perhaps use the MCR thread to make his points?

Or use his time more constructively instead of knocking those of us from CVR at every opportunity?

That maybe ok on the CVR but the Moorland and City Railway is a separate commercial company - so we are told, so surely you should be on their payroll and certified by them but unfortunately as it is a company in name only and doesn't do any railway activities.

Whilst it may be a separate company it has the right to stipulate the conditions for lineside access - and CVR accreditation may be one of those conditions. I presume that you have such accreditation and are therefore entitled to lineside access on the MCR properties. In the same way Network Rail requires certification for lineside access (for its staff) but accepts Sentinel accreditation as Sentinel are one of the companies approved by Network Rail to provide the appropriate staff training.

I think it is important that everyone has their say, positive or negative, but for the discussion to perform any construcive purpose the arguments advanced must be backed up with a justification for making them. The claim in the quoted statement that MCR "doesn''t do any railway activities" is clearly untrue given the continuing negotiations with Network Rail to run trains to Endon, and the planned railway extension to Leek, to give but two examples.

If clog&knocker has valid points to make against MCR with some form of evidence to back them up he should make them. If, on the other hand, his posts are nothing more than unsubstantiated speculation, he might like to consider whether it is worthwhile making the effort to post them.

Please note that this is NOT posted as an attack on clog&knocker. If there is a debate to be had on the basis of information or issues which can be backed up, let's have it.

    Best wishes,
    Nigel

Will you stop trying to guess the operations of a Private Co in order to make yet another dig in at people associated to CVR/MCR?
If you are that interested get off your backside from behind the PC, come and help and you may learn the reality.
