Great day at Swanage today, great weather and well done to the organisers. Liked the NSE branding on stations and the signs for Swanage traincare depot, pity there were no RPI's enforcing penalty fare's to add to the scene. :)

One observation, why do people think that it is compulsory to wear hi viz at a diesel gala? H.V. clothing only become the norm in the 90's whilst most of the traction on show is very much 60's and 70's based.

Re HV....railway policy on or around the track HV must be worn.......

Why do some photograhers who are only on the platform feel the need to wear HV's......probably small willy sindrome:D

Don't some preserved railways have a ban on HV in public areas?

There seems to be a one upmanship within the H.V. clothing brigade in public areas.

Goes something like...Oh look he's got a Balfour Beatty logo'd one or Network Rail, they are sooo last year ;)

BR has mandated orange vests (Nicknamed BRAS - British Rail Aid to Safety!) whilst on or about the lineside since the early 1970s - the reflective strips appeared in the early 1990s.
