So myself and a friend have worked it out to be 17 narrow gauge engines in steam?
Anyone have any ideas or clues?
Henry could you divulge or is it a surprise?

On an aside, if anyone could get me some detail pictures of HC972, I can then refine my MSTS model :)

    Thanks :)

Henry - is there a new guidebook for this year?

I hope the day goes well and I look forward to seeing pictures!

Another great day at Statfold, thanks to whole team for another fascinating day of narrow gauge trains. Completion of the second running line, new signals, new toilets; just amazing what has been achieved since last year. Not sure who arranged the weather but it made the day.

I had been looking forward to seeing the newly restored Hudswell at Statfold.
What a magnificent machine, the icing on the cake being the spark arresting chimney.

The Plymouth diesel, newly restored and regauged was a surprise. It sounded great too.
I was lucky to film it rescuing the failed Mallet.
It would be nice to see it in service at the next gala - any chance Henry?

Many thanks to all at Statfold for making this such a great day.

A big thank you from me to all the team at Statfold Barn Farm for their efforts on Saturday. The restored big Hudswell looked and sounded great, but unfair to highlight one loco out of such a superb line up.

Sad to see the Mallet fail, as I've a soft spot for it after seeing it on the Welsh Highland, hope it is back in action soon

It's a STEAM gala - it would not be nice to see a diesel in service at the next gala Henry

I think the more variety the better, especially with different and unusual diesel locomotives such as found at Statfold. With the amount of steam locomotives though of course the majority is always going to be that way, but surely that doesn't mean never running a diesel.

It's been a few years since I went and lots has changed. The grain store with the loco storage was very impressive. Running an odd diesel would add a bit of interest as well plus the rail Land Rover wasn't steam powered either ;)

Hey, remember that Statfold regular Issinsyd (I think that's correct!) isn't a steam engine either. Or is that allowed because it sounds like one?

Excellent set of photos there, Matt. Can hardly wait for June 7th when I can finally be there in person!
