4433 was a non-descript Boat Brake, later designated BSO. I was intimately connected to 4449 RIP

This time without a glass of port in one hand and not looking properly
    2 - An SECR D with a later 2 spectackle cab
3 - Just a guess but being in a SECR group of pics could it be Asgford? Just a guest
4 - It is a bit far away but definitely SECR in outline - probably a B but it would need rod splashers - not clear in photo
7 - agree wirh RG 1933 nondescript brake built 1933 withdrawn 12.62 - classed as open brake second from June 56
8 - coupled to an SR utility could be a red herring, seen one at Fort William, but it has a bit of a southern look to it. A bit remenicent of LSWR brake at Bluebell from the paneling style but could equally be SECR
10 - standard unfitted SR brake
11 - SR Queen Mary brake - underframe recycled from a Brighton AC overhead electric loco
    12 - tender from a Q1
21 - looks a bit like 1938 London tube stock
22 - It looks a bit like New Romney on the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch and judging by the damage and run down air just post WW2 after the army had finished with it
23 - Found it in Southern country stations by John Minnis - its Fawkham for Longfield a 1902 replacement following a fire. Replaced by a hideous CLASP c1969

Photo 4 is a Drummond T9, but judging by the birdcage stock, third rail and 6 wheel tender, probably running on the Central or Eastern Section.

Tom - i had not considered a T9 hauling Birdcage stock but have discovered a pic of one at Dover Marine. The diferences are there but not as distinctive as one might think especially those which had fully round splashers like 446

I think the safety valves on the dome are a giveaway for a Drummond boiler.

I'd suggest that 7,8,9 are all at the same location and if you can release an image of the duty roster (9) so that it can be enlarged I'd imagine that the notes on the board will easily help pinpoint where we are in Kent.

I tried using a magnifying glass on thr roster and the writing is not clear. I was just wondering if the stock shed could be Bricklayers Arms area

EDIT Managed to read a few names on the board which include Liverpool, Birkenhead,Stafford, Hereford & London. I was wondering GWR somewhere in the midlands?

Looking at the "Shunts" listed, I'd say that it's Crewe South. And where else would have a column for "Engines fresh out of works"?

Re pic 7 and attribution to Clapham junction - using a medium magnification and a glass you can just make out "Ocean Liner and Southampton Docks" on the roof board

Photo 11 is a SR Queen Mary Brake, diagram 1550. This is the later series, built on purpose-built underframes (effectively a shortened standard carriage underframe). The first 21 Queen Marys had modified LBSCR electric unit underframes; this earlier series can be distinguished by having side windows in the main cabin. Several of the later versions have been preserved, but sadly none of the earlier series.

The roster board is not SR for sure. Looking closely at the Loco' numbers i'd say it's LMS and Oddsocks is right...Crewe South.

No 22 is indeed New Romney, Station to the right and Engine Shed at the rear of the train. This rolling stock was refurbished and is still in use today.

Having wrongly assumed that there was logic to the sequencing of these photos and thereby missing completely the relevance of the entries on the loco roster (9), can I venture agreement over 7 and 8 being in Clapham Yard? I think the actual shed seen in both pictures is the one still visible and in use on the left as you enter platform 7 London bound. IRRC there always used to be vans and other stock to the side of the shed plus Ocean Liner stock in the shed itself. That does tie in with earlier comments about the boards on the coach in picture 7.

There have been no takers for pic 16 - the station scene. The canopy style looks typically Midland. Also behind the second lamppost on right is a poster board which appears to be hedded "London Midland and Scottish Railway. it is also a junction. Other than those clues you probably need local knowledge.

I was tempted to offer Bedford Midland for this scene taken at the beginning of 20th century so in the absence of any other suggestion ...

The 0-6-0ST numbered 1331 is an ex GWR absorbed loco, I think, ex Monmouthshire Railway and Canal Company. Also owned by South Devon Railway and Powlesland and Mason. Don't have more info as I don't have the relevent RCTS volume.

Photo 22 is New Romney RHDR, the 2 coaches nearest the camera are Clayton Pullmans (note the steam heat connections).

Not all the stock was refurbished as there is now only 1 of the Claytons extant.
