Photo 9 looks like the Fletcher Jennings No. 3 "Baxter", now at the Bluebell Railway. Not 100% certain of the location but I am just wondering if it is in Turner's siding at Sheffield Park - that would date the photo to very early 1960s.

Photo 52 is an LBSCR I2 class Atlantic tank (DE Marsh, a propos our earlier conversation!)

Photo 53 is an LBSCR I3 tank (the superheated variant of the Atlantic tanks), also DE Marsh

Photo 54 - if the number quoted is right it is a Terrier, but it looks too big; I think it is a Stroudley E1, in which case the number quoted is wrong. In the background is one of the big Baltic class L tanks.

Thanks Tom, ignore the number at the beginning of each caption as this is just the photo not the loco number

In that case, I'm sure photo 53 is a Stroudley E1, but not sure of the specific identity.

The photo numbers seem to have changed since I first look; for the removal of ambiguity:

http://railway-photography.smugmug.com/SteamMisc/New-Steam-locos-locations-to/i-4Bwgksh - Loco 3 - Fletcher Jennings No 3. Looking at it again, I'm pretty certain that it is Turner's Siding at Sheffield Park, where the current Carriage shed is now.

    http://railway-photography.smugmug.com/SteamMisc/New-Steam-locos-locations-to/i-bC4HVNF - Loco 20 - is a Marsh I2

    http://railway-photography.smugmug.com/SteamMisc/New-Steam-locos-locations-to/i-gCzGH8d - Loco 89 - is a Marsh I3

    http://railway-photography.smugmug.com/SteamMisc/New-Steam-locos-locations-to/i-CVPn8Qf - Loco ?? - is a Stroudley E1

Neil, The following are from the Bradford area
photo 60 is Clayton on the ex GNR Queensbury line
photo 62 is Queensbury looking towards Bradford
    photo 63 is Low Moor
photo 65 is Bridge St goods depot with the roof of Bradford exchange station just visible on the right.
photo 66 is probably Low Moor but the bay window was what we presumed to be the Foremans Office so we always avoided that bit of the Shed.

10 is Paddington and Horton Park (59) is Bradford. The depot (63) and coaling tower(56) are the same location. Looks like Low Moor. That location may also apply to some of the locos. 29 is Manvers Main Colliery at Wath in South Yorkshire.

    Done a bit more looking
photo 2 could be Low Moor as a the shed was rebuilt possibly in early BR days which was half the size of the original one and at the end the demolished bit was used to store withdrawn engines
photos 20 and 21 possibly Ardsley the J39's being there after the mass withdrwals at the end of 1962?
photo 31 is Laisterdyke with a train coming up the hill from Bradford Exchange
Looking forward to answers to the others and possibly being corrected

60014 awaiting scrapping at Doncaster 12 May 1963.

I also think 21 is Ardsley - there appears to be an ex-Holbeck Royal Scot at the end of the line-up.

    22 may be Holbeck.

    Neil,
Done a bit of rummaging through my bookshelf
photo 61 is the goods yard at Clayton, the line to Bradford was on a descending gradient to the right just out of the picture.
photo 67 looks very West Riding and appears to be of a group visiting a shed/worksbut where I don't know.

How certain are you about the dates on the photos? Looking at the LBSCR photos, a pre-grouping livery in 1924 isn't too surprising. But this photo: http://railway-photography.smugmug.com/SteamMisc/New-Steam-locos-locations-to/i-bC4HVNF - surprises me if it is really 1924, since as far as I am aware, the LBSCR stopped using the "LB&SCR" lettering on locos round about 1911, standardising on the simpler "LBSC". So I'm sceptical about a date of 1924 for that photo. The carriage looks to be plain umber (rather than umber and white) which would date it to post 1911. Allowing for the fact that a loco might last two to three years between repaints and I'd suggest a date for that photo of around 1911 - 1914, but almost certainly not later, and certainly not 1924, by which time the loco would be lettered LBSC or maybe Southern.
