Ah, it must be Hogwarts Maroon then on Galatea!;)

I was wondering if the mystery loco was from the un-rebuilt Merchant Navy project which has slipped under everyone's net....................Ian Riley secretly back converted 35009 while everyone's attention was on the 4472 saga...........................

There's more, we had two brits busting out of Southall this morning. The schedules had them going through West Ealing 15 mins apart,

It may be my imagination, but I am sure I just heard a chime whistle at Watford Junction. Does anyone know whether anything has passed? This was at about 18:20-25.

I was going to say, Oh no here we go again...........................................

But it would have been 60009, as she's going out of the cross Tuesday morning........................... so it must have been a late activation on the system!!

There is a move from Southall to East Grinstead on Tuesday 22/10. I presume this is 45231 (tender first) to the Bluebell but I don't have confirmation.

RTT has the trailing load for the three engine (34046, 70000 and 60163) and two support coaches movement tomorrow as 2,020 tons - UKSteam has it as just the five vehicles in total, which doesn't add up to even half of this load. Is there more to this movement than meets the eye?

I vaguely recall someone explaining that the loads in RTT were effectively a set of nominal loads for working out schedules, rather than the actual load. So normally, heavier load = slower schedule; but in the case of a move towing locos (presumably) in light steam, slow maximum speed = slow schedule = heavier nominal (but not actual) load shown in the software. So I think it is just a quirk of the system for timetabling.

Out of interest, the Black 5 move to the Bluebell tomorrow is also down as 2020 tons.

Tom - many thanks. I knew my hopes of some mega-convoy were ill-founded!

It's definitely not just a quirk, it's surprisingly accurate for freights!

All three looking shiny coupled together outside Southall this morning. No sign of MGR or other heavy freight for them to pull, sadly… ;-)
