The departure from Woking was spectacular... It looked just like one of those videos from the 60's...
    Fast strong departure, no messing.

Was going to call it a day at Woking, but may pop out tonight now for one of the fast stretches..

A lovely scene at Winchfield as 34046 gets underway. Even the kiosk stayed open for the stop. In the support coach every window is filled as the crew watch the departure. Also, I'm hopeless at recognising drivers, can anyone help me out?

Thank you for this. She sounds great. I liked the historical pictures at the beginning. The 1996 image is particularly poignant. I remember 34046 looking like that, and being posed next to 34039 just south of Bishop's Lydeard during the West Somerset's S&D Gala in March of that year. A remarkable transformation indeed. I reckon 34046 must have a higher percentage of new metal than any other engine currently on the main line apart from 60163.

Superb video, and sounds fantastic as you say, especially when heard via a powerful Hi-Fi :)

    Here at Addlestone & Basingstoke.
Good clean terrific sounding pullaway from Basingstoke. Apologies for shaky camerawork at Basingstoke, I was hanging off the side of a 9 floor building with only one foot on the concrete!

start at 30 seconds to avoid the intro for those who dont like it.

As promised earlier here is my shot from Prune Hill near Egham this morning:

The locomotive looks a real credit to all those involved. I haven't posted the shot of 33029 'Glen Loy' on here to keep Mr Yeti happy! ;)

By the way, if someone can tell me how to embed the image onto this post I would be most grateful.

Superb video:) , 6029 King Stephen, thanks for sharing.
Even the Wood Pigeon at 1 min 50 secs is cooing in appreciation of seeing such locomotive out and about doing what shes was designed and produced to do. Congratulations to one and all that made it happen;).
I'm really looking forward to seeing her at Dawlish, Paignton and Newton Abbot on Sunday.

To embed a picture on this forum, you need to know the picture's web address. On Flickr, that is not the address of the page where it is displayed, but you can get to it as follows:
    1. View the picture in Flickr
    2. Right click it and choose the size you want to show (I chose the 640 version)
    3. This takes you to a different page with the photo displayed
    4. Right click the image and choose "copy image URL" or "copy link" or whatever, depending on your browser
    5. On this forum, click the icon for "Insert/edit image" on the toolbar, and paste the URL there. Job done.
