There is not a day in the year that you could guarantee 100% against a lineside fire. Also there is never a day in the year that you could board a train, steam diesel or electric, and guarantee 100% that it would not break down. In life you have to accept that s--t happens. Reducing the risk is the answer. Let's not even mention steam charters during the winter months only. The result would be a repeat of last years monsoon. <BJ>

UK Steam has 46115 down to run again. Hoping the final 2 weeks of the train has another loco on it!

Does anybody know if there is a pay on the day facility on the SSE. If there is and the weather is nice, I might take the old dear to the seaside.
That should be the kiss of death for 46115.;)

There has been in the past. A mate of mine did just that last year and was told one carriage was kept for POTD passengers.

Generally you wait in the Buffet car and are then told if seats are available further forward.
    Or stay in the buffet.

I usually do a trip on the SSE around August Bank Holiday but the threat of diesel involvement means my money will stay in my wallet pro tem.
