We know 4965 is involved... Decision re 47 on the rear to be taken shortly. It's hot again today with no sign of rain yet so do we gamble on the weather forecast being correct??!!

    Will update when 100%

    Ben,
Which way will you be going from Stratford? I noticed you came back via Dorridge last week. Just wanting to know if its the same way this week?

    It's official.

    It's raining, it's pouring,
    The diesel stays snoring.....

    Or

    We'll have fun fun fun.
As the rain keeps the diesel away.

    Outbound via North Warwick.
Returns via the mainline through Doridge and Solihull.

Now where did we put 4965's storm sheet?

Good try Ben, but lets have the correct words to this old classic! ;)

Well she got the train to herself on ten cars
And she cruised through the Warwick countryside now
Seems she forgot all about the box behind her
Like NR once told Ben to do now
    And with the chimney blasting
4965 goes cruising just as fast as she can now

And she'll have fun fun fun
    Til Ben takes 4965 away

    OR:-

No diesel in the Midlands today. A few sporadic showers but generally a nice day. 4965 looked and sounded as good as usual.
Caught the first northbound run between Wilmcote and Bearley jnc. Very obviously not working the engine hard. Second run at Dorridge wth 4965 purring along very nicely.

I planned on catching the mid day run but got caught behind an over turned caravan on the M40 so took the late run instead. Best run I've ever had behind a Hall by some distance. We were not hanging around. Loco not thrashed though, just fast and competent. Best £10 I've ever spent. There seemed to be a lot of empty seats though. Use it or loose it folks.

No guarantees and all that, but I hear that 4965 is having the next two weeks off. So if you want some reasonably priced Castle haulage now's your chance.;)

Is the Castle still 'on' for this Sunday, diesel assisted or solo?

Biblical volumes of rain here in Nunny last night and this morning. Assume similar over Tyseley way?

More on Friday than what was forecast for today, I'd be surprised if it's got dry/warm enough again just yet, even IF (I never looked to be sure) the 47 accompanied 5043 to Holyhead today, that could be for shunting as much as fire risk.

From what has been posted on youtube, there is no sign of a diesel.
