Palmerston was... "However it was sold to a consortium in 1974 and removed to Derbyshire ..."

That's not quite correct, Palmerston was sold, but went to Staffordshire, not Derbyshire. See my forthcoming book on the George England locos for a fuller account :)

A reminder that the Steam 150 action on Saturday kicks off at 0800 at Harbour Station with street theatre, horse drawn slates and the arrival of Princess. Be late and you'll miss it...

...especially as 'Horse 180' takes place from 0745 at Harbour Station... I was going to say 'kicks off from 0745' - but that's probably not a good thing to happen with a horse in the equation!

Sorry if it's been posted elsewhere and I've missed it, but has Pony just been repainted or has it had a proper cosmetic job ?, despite the coal I highly doubt an overhauls passed me by.

'Welsh Pony' has undergone a cosmetic restoration and repaint into FR green livery...

Into FR green livery as it going to be using 'Linda's tender at times during the weekend...

'Linda's tender appears behind 'Welsh Pony' in the recent photographs, the coal being added to disguise the oil tank...

Festipedia suggests Linda's tender used to be Welsh Pony's. Which would explain, I guess, why Welsh Pony didn't have one after giving another one back to Princess.
