    Interesting selection of locomotives there, some of them look British and others look German?

    From front to back you have a Kerr Stuart Joffre (british built to a modified french design), a Dick Kerr petrol loco (british), 3 Hunslet WD 4-6-0s (british), a Baldwin WD design (albeit missing its tanks, probably a british army 4-6-0, but American built) then another Hunslet WD and another Baldwin. In all likelyhood a fully British Army lineup.

    One to look out for is a new book being published by Roy Link, due some time next year but no fixed date yet. Details from the web site are : In preparation: WDLR Album - a snapshot of British forces 60cm gauge on the Western Front - March 1918. Over 80 high quality photographs, plus drawings, maps, ephemera etc. There have been a couple of adverts on the back of Narrow Gauge and Industrial Railway Modelling, which magazine has had a number of articles on WD rolling stock with some good drawings.

    French Campagne locomotive...... great chair !! On a summer sunday afternoon some fourteen years ago, i found one of these locomotives in a dump belonging to a quarry equipement company, just two miles from where i lived at the time, the locomotive dated from 1919, you can imagine the surprise, i tried to save it, but the owner prefered to let it rot, what can you do ?[​IMG]
