Looked good at Winwick, I found a decent location for a pan shot and then a couple of horses decided to say hello and stood right in shot...

According t o announcements at New Street, the train is being delayed at Tyseley- I don't know why.

No sign of the train as I departed New Street on 07.22 to Leicester, so probably at least 30 mins late.

UPDATE: According to http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U53416/2012/11/17/advanced it was 36 mins late departing New St.

Restriction on the approach to Oxenholme of 20 mph due to broken rail, so climb to Greyrigg took a bit of hard work, Tebay passed at only 55, so with the easing at Scout Green to avoid slip on flange greaser it meant that 30 at the summit was quite good. Now heading for Penrith at a suitably brisk pace.

Leaves on line, service train in front came to grief at same point which held us at Whalley. Rails hand sanded for 1/4 a mile, on the move or trying to.
