I've applied for my ticket, just got to hope to get through this stage of the ballot. It will be a bit pricey at £180, but well worth it - an historic event as it is!

Posh class eh! I'll be joining the plebs for a mere £150 if I'm lucky.

At least it won't be in open coaches!

For those who haven't seen this yet - it's not in the most obvious place to look, but check out the photos of the Met coach being restored at Boston Lodge.

    Lovely work!

More photos from earlier are also there on the "Prince working party" news items.

Does anybody know whether the January event will be the only one to feature the original Met coaches, or will they be running at the May event as well?

There's some new photo's on the LTM Flickr page too, showing the body and underframe nearing completion - according to the LTM Blog "static testing will be undertaken at Boston Lodge in the first week of November, followed by dynamic testing on a standard gauge heritage railway line soon after".

They've also uploaded a couple of photo's of Met No1 in mid-October here and here - not long to go...

Check out the latest on the Flickr page HERE, it's rather spectacular. Not sure anyone will ever dare say anything about 'little' railways ever again! Can't wait for the results of the ballot.

Apparently someone visiting the LTM was told they'd had 40,000 applications, no idea if that's accurate but spectacular if it is.

That's a lot of applications. The sceptic in me says that figure is wrong but it's going to be a spectacular success for LUL if it's right.

Spectacular indeed ! Should ensure funds will be available to finish No. 1's rebuild if it is true !

So has anyone been lucky in the ballot? I've heard nothing to date so assuming I've been unsuccessful.

    Re: LU 150 plans...

I saw it yesterday afternoon. It was next to the shed and had just been lit up by the look of it.

Met No.1 and an LNER J15 together at Bitton. Things are looking up. <BJ>

Do you know if it is likely to be given another run tomorrow?

Met No.1 is on test today around Bitton. Sorry for the late reply. <BJ>
