    Hello

I am the organiser of the 150 year celebration at the Keith and Dufftown. This event is backed by the lottery, but in the future we would like to think that regular steam events would pay for themselves. So please come along so that I can make a case to the management to do this again!

Mrs Spamcan55 and me had a very pleasant ride along the line behind 46512 this morning. Friendly staff, well organised and great scenery, especially with the autumnal colours. I hope you'll be able to do this again, though its a shame (I understand why it is necessary) everyone has to get out for the shunt moves at each end of the line - it was a good job it wasn't raining like it was on Friday. It was actually water that was supplied to the loco from the distillery next to Dufftown Station wasn't it? Think we saw an eagle from the train too. Inevitably, the sun went in just before the second departure.... Looks like a decent Sixties gala, with steam rescuing the DMU!

The location in the second shot (one minute onwards) is stunning. Was the event a success in terms of passenger numbers etc? It would be great if the railway could get more steam in and use that to boost their profile. I don't think I was even aware of them until I read this topic, there's never any coverage in Steam Railway or anything like that.
