925 was out on mileage runs double heading, With the Thomas event plonked just before the Gala the chance to get out and run mid week isnt there otherwise.

Lets hope 825 and 5322 are facing out of Alresford.

She's going to the NNR for their gala this weekend, so probably wont be back for a while - she may well go straight from the NNR to the SVR for their gala at the end of September AND then she's off to the WSR for their gala at the beginning of Ocotober! doing the rounds that one! :faint:

I thought it was 31806 that was going to the SVR.

Yes, you're right - got a bit carried away, should have checked the SVR website ( I knew it was an MHR loco going there, completely forgot about the U )

Maybe 45379 will stay at the NNR and the low loader returning her will then take 31806 up to the SVR.

Now that 45379 isn't going on 'holiday' to the Norfolk coast, does this mean that she will now put in an appearance at the gala?

Has this been confirmed by anyone? The only reason why I ask is. If she doesn't go on holiday then they won't be able to turn her around. This will only leave us with 34007 facing out of Alresford after 31806 returns from her holiday.

I'm confused.... i am 95% sure 45379 was on the event page originally... but there is no sign of her listed nor an explanation to say why she has been taken off.

And someone has also pointed out to me on the allocation timetable it says: THE AUTUMN STEAM SPECTACULAR | 7 - 9 SEPTEMBER 2013!

Perhaps they will reconsider turning the U boat- having said that I am booked on a Matt Allen charter with 31806 facing out of Alton!

I'm a little confused as to why so many of the Freight workings appear to be with locos tender first. Given the general idea of a frieght working is for the photos I would have thought it would make sense to have an engine facing the right way on the front!

Gutted the GWR mogul doesn't get a run on the freight too :-(

Anyone idea which way the guest locos will face yet?

Seeing as it only took over from 30777's role which is a passenger loco and the MHR probably want the guest locomotives hauling passengers it makes sense to me. I don't see 825 on any freights unless i've missed it and that's an appropriate choice, but again, it's a guest and people will want to have a ride behind it. Are there not any charters with any of the guests in the days after the gala?

Having looked at the loco allocations and the fact that 92212 was supposed to have returned facing out of Alresford not Alton the goods working are mostly(and were supposed to be) chimney first.

One of them is with that well known goods engine 850 Lord Nelson but there again that is for rostering purposes so it catches up with 925 Cheltenham to double head!.

Its all going to get a little confusing over the next few months with 45379 31806 and 92212 all supposed to wandering round the country (reapairs pending) as to which direction they will return as two of these are booked on Mid Hants charters and ones facing the wrong way at the moment for it.

To clear up a couple of things. 92212 was supposed to be the other way around, but the trailer delivering it had problems with the hydraulics. We are looking at whether we can turn it next time we have a low loader in or not.

45379 will be away at the NNR and Battlefield galas. The inclusion on the original timetable was a mistake.

45379 is away shortly. 31806 is off to the SVR. 925 is away at some point too. 92212 returns to the Bluebell later in the year as well. Ropley is begining to feel like a Hertz car park!

I am a little confused here, as I am sure I have read on the NNR thread that 45379 will NOT be attending the NNR gala... I read that there are repairs that are still taking place (see post 109 by CDR Class 5). Would someone mind clarifying what the situation is with 45379 please (Note to mods: If considered off-topic, please feel free to move to the MHR restorations/repairs thread)?
