According to Steam Dreams train feed on Twitter "Due to crew issues, our trip 2morrow will go to York & Durham rather than Scarborough as advertised. We apologise for this last-minute change"

Thanks for that - some of my family were going to see her at Scarborough.

Their website's still showing Scarborough though - this is at 0655...

I see it's been tweeted from the train that it's coming to Durham - any ideas on times please?

Just been passed by Tornado south of Knebworth. Guard told people to shut the windows as we were about to enter smoke filled tunnels cos"That's what steam trains do"......

Just had a tweet from CathEx on the train - Durham arr 1409, depart 1700. Thanks very much to the 'tweeter' responsible :) . We have a 'Team Tornado' member looking forward to seeing 'his' engine, after his trip behind her on the "Elizabethan" :)

Was 15 late off the Cross and around 30 late when it passed me at Arlesey. Lost its path no doubt.

Anyone know if it's still planned to go via Castleford or is it now likely to go straight up the ECML?

It would be interesting to know the facts behind the last-minute change of destination, but at least the train's running & hasn't been caped...

"Crew issues" could mean many things but could be as simple as the booked driver becoming unavailable and the only replacement not signed for the Scarborough line.

A very uninspiring shot of "Tornado" today at Burn. LINK

Got to say that the coaching stock looks disgusting, it must be a big disappointment turning up at Kings Cross and seeing that lot for the first time.

I was told 1700 off Durham, then presumably she slots back into the times on UKSteam from York; due off there at 1820

No worries - usual caveats with those times, of course...

Apparently ASLEF DBS drivers have a ban on rest day working, so they were unable to provide a conductor who signed the Scarvorough line (or via Castleford). SD passengers were given the choice of three destinations - Durham, York (with a small refund) or Scarborough (via service train from York).
